Tells the story of the Black-Scholes mathematical formula, which appeared to take the risk out of playing the money markets, thus providing the means of making massive financial gains. Its inventors joined forces with dealers on Wall Street to form LTCM, a company that traded billions, but when things went badly wrong, LTCM collapsed and endangered the entire global economy.
