Synopsis

Part three. Alberti, seeing spiritual values as the new humanism, defends the new laws of perspective and preaches the virtues of the co-existence of art and commerce. After the execution of Albizzi for crimes against the Republic, Alberti leaves for Rome to spread the Florentine Renaissance, and goes on to become the architect and archaeologist of Eugene's successor, Nicholas V. Alberti's spiritual heir is the young Lorenzo de' Medici, grandson of Cosimo.
