Shoot the Messenger (2006)

Film details

Synopsis

Joe Pascale is an angry man who sees his black colour as a curse and believes his problems are caused at root by his own black people. He becomes a teacher in order to counter this in new generations through education, but his strictness and use of humiliation leads to rebellion amongst his pupils, one of whom falsely accuses him of assault. Publicity and media attention follow, and Joe finds himself scorned and branded a racist. Joe ends up in a mental hospital and then moves from being a beggar to a community of ardent Christians, to working at an employment agency and forming a relationship with a girl.
