Synopsis

John Percival looks at relationship between rich & poor countries. Looks at pollution problems and unemployment brought by industrialisation in developing countries and questions values of increasing industrialisation.

Interviews about pollution from modern society & problems in developing countries with: Dr John Davoll, Director,of the Conservation Society; Prof Dudley Seers, leader of an International Labour Organisation study group in Ceylon; Robert Allen, science journalist; Dr E F Schumacher, founder Intermediate Technology Group; Gerald Leach, science reporter, Observer; Brian Johnston, Institute of Development Studies. They and Percival comment on exhaustion of resources problems & suggest that rich countries shld scale down industrialisation rather than spread it to poor countries.
