Synopsis

Compilation of footage shot by Swedish reporters during the period 1967-1975, charting the key stories from the Black Power movement. Segments focus on the formation of the Black Panther Party; the uproar following the assassination of Martin Luther King; the prison uprising at Attica; the Angela Davis trial; the rise of the Nation of Islam.

Featuring appearances by:

Stokely Carmichael (later Kwame Ture)(1941-1998): Leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), later “Honorary Prime Minister” of the Black Panther Party

Eldridge Cleaver (1935-1998): Minister of Information of the Black Panther Party
