Supernatural comedy adventure. When teenager Zach Cooper moves with his widowed mother from New York to the small town of Madison, he finds himself living next door to a friendly girl, Hannah, and her forbidding father, who turns out to be the mysterious author of the bestselling ‘Goosebumps’ book series, R.L. Stine. Zach discovers that the creatures Stine describes have become real and are kept locked up in the manuscripts of his books. When the books are accidentally opened, the creatures emerge and rampage through the town. Furthermore, it is the night of the school dance, and the monsters converge on the school. Zach, his friend Champ, Hannah and Stine race to prevent total disaster by sucking the creatures back into the books they came from. But one talking ventriloquist's dummy, Slappy, sets about burning the books so the monsters cannot be removed from the world.
