- British Artists' Film and Video Study Collection
- Site of British Artists' Film and Video study collection held at Central St Martins College of Art and Design. Funded by AHRB, the collection holds more than 1,000 individual film and video works indexed by artists. Titles are available for viewing at study collection. Website holds the 'British Artists' Film and Video Database' which contains a chronology of artists' work from 1914 onwards. Form provided so users can add titles not included. Also holds pertinent links to artists' websites.
- Canyon Cinema
- Site of Canyon Cinema, which began in the 1950s and has developed into 'one of the principal distribution sources for independent cinema today'. Its collection provides a history of the movement from the 1930s to the present. Distributing over 3,700 films and videotapes, site lists artists/directors by name but also provides search options. Detailed overview of each title is provided. Prospective buyers/renters can phone, fax and email and distribution is international.
- Center for Visual Music
- Based in the US, The Center for Visual Music's website contains details of events, an online store of artists' films, a library of online articles and thesis on visual music, artists' weblinks, and details of the film and video archive of CVM.
- Cinovid
- 'Cinovid is an internet database for experimental film and video art.' The international database of over 7,000 avant-garde titles can be searched by title or artist, or via country, format and keyword. Sources of the data include a number of film art institutions such as Canyon Cinema, Light Cone Paris and Video Data Bank Chicago. Each entry includes brief credits and a detailed synopsis. Distribution details are provided on receipt of email.
- Film and Video Umbrella
- Funded by the Arts Council of England, the primary focus of Film and Video Umbrella's activities is the curation and production of artists' film and video work for gallery exhibition at venues in England. Film and Video Umbrella commissions approximately eight new projects a year - each of which is developed in collaboration with a partner venue before touring to other galleries in England and, on occasion, further afield.
- Flicker
- Website of 'Flicker', site of the international 'alternative cinematic experience' and avant-garde film. Site is also a resource for media artists, cinephiles, educators, programmers etc. Provides information on artists listed alphabetically, on venues internationally, events each week, film resources and images taken from Flicker films and videos. Also holds the archive of the online magazine Framework.
- Lightcone
- A French archive and distributor for experimental films. Website is in both French and English, and has a searchable database.
- LUX
- Involved in distribution, collection, exhibition, publishing and research, the LUX aims to promote and preserve the film and video collection of its predecessor organisations: The LUX Centre, the London Filmmaker's Co-Op and the London Electronic Arts/London Video Access. The organisation plans to develop audiences for artists' moving image work and provide 'professional development support to artists'. Also aims to organise international distribution, educational outreach programmes, exhibitions and promotions.
- Lux Online
- Luxonline is a free on-line resource for people wishing to learn about and explore British artists' film and video. To view the streamed video material you will require a licence which is available to colleges, universities, and public libraries. Site also contains useful resources such as a film terms glossary, learning tours, a history of British video and film art, an A-Z of artists, and more.

- Details of the Tate Britain's programme of events to do with a A Century of Artists' Film in Britain.
- US Video Data Bank
- Founded in 1976, VDB is a US based resource for videotapes by and about contemporary artists. Tapes in a number of formats can be hired or purchased internationally. Films can be searched for by title, artist, and subject (genre such as pixelvision, documentary, animation etc. as well as theme such as art history, gender, and war). Site also includes numerous 6 to 30 second viewable video clips of the films (Quicktime format).
