- British Cinema History Research Project
- Based at the University of East Anglia, within the School of English and American Studies, the project involves two digitisation programmes. The first centres on the BECTU (trade union)Oral History Project and creating availability online. Consisting of over 500 audio tapes of interviews of personnel who have worked in film/media, the material relates to experiences back to the 1920s. Site hold details of the individuals,their careers and how to access the interviews. The second project focuses on producing a searchable online index of the famous British trade journal Kine Weekly, published c.1890s until its demise in 1971. A unique and informative research aid and source.
- British Film Resource
- This impressive, wide ranging site considers the history of British film from various conceptual viewpoints. eg 'The Pioneers', the 'US invasion' and 'World War II'. The detailed, theoretical articles/essays relate to the first 100 years of British film. 'From James Bond to J Arthur Rank ...if it happened in or around a British Studio during the last century we're interested in it.' Site roughly covers 1890 - 1980s and considers directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and David Lean, plus studios(eg Rank and Ealing), and provides profiles of stars from Charles Laughton to Ewan MacGregor. Tone of information is thorough and academic in perspective.

- A sort of fansite dedicated to British Transport Films, this site gives an overview of the history of the Unit and details past, current and forthcoming VHS and DVD releases as well as any other relevant news. Includes links to related resources.

- This site tells the story of Charles Urban's (1867-1942)major contribution to early cinema and provides links to a number of useful resources.

- Personally produced, work in progress site (Nov.2004), focusing on British films from 1900s to 1950s. Includes a 'British Cinema Discussion' section, lists of leading players (most with biographical/career entries), plus Directors/Producers and Studios/Producers pages. Some sections require entries and additional material. Potentially useful, informative, and a guide to British Cinema.

- Website created by Bogarde's nephew, who manages the Dirk Bogarde Estate. Provides an overview of Bogarde's life through a photo gallery, examples of Bogarde's drawing, painting and writing, a filmography, information on his published books and clips from Bogarde's own home movies.

- Site dedicated to the work of Powell and Pressburger. Much information is arranged via a FAQ format which connects to other sites holding articles, reviews and background knowledge. Covers film access, books, documentaries, locations and film music on P & P titles. Plus email group, lists of relevant actors, technicians, stills and obituaries. Detailed and well connected site holding a broad collection of useful information.
