European Film Academy
EFA was founded in 1989 under the name of European Cinema Society by its first president Ingmar Bergman and 40 filmmakers to advance the interests of the European film industry. EFA's policy is reflected in a number of activities dealing with film policies, economic, artistic, and training aspects. The programme includes conferences and workshops, the themes of which are aimed at overcoming the barriers between creativity and the industry. EFA also runs the annual European Film Awards.
