Our display in October 2007 celebrated Black History Month by showcasing the careers of the winners of the BFI's and Every Generation Media's 100 Black Screen Icons online poll.

The winners are unsurprisingly familiar to most of us: Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Quincy Jones...

Be inspired by the biographies and other secondary texts in the library and take the time to delve a little deeper into our wide range of collections. You can then spread the word and highlight the need for more critical writing to be published in this area.
