Library Membership/passes

Access to the Reading Room of the BFI National Library is open to BFI Library Pass holders only. In order to continue as the world's finest resource of film and television literature, it is necessary to charge for our services. There are a range of passes available to meet all levels of use. Please be aware that when the Reading Room has reached maximum capacity, we will stop selling Day Passes for the rest of that day.

Library Passes Prices

• Day Pass costs £5
• Weekly Pass costs £15 and is valid for 5 consecutive working days
• Annual Pass costs £35 (BFI Members and Supporters save £5)
• Discounted Annual Pass costs £25 (BFI Members and Supporters save £5). Available to students, seniors, disabled and unwaged with proof of status
• Institutional Annual Pass costs £50 and is valid for use by one person at a time. Available to bona fide educational and cultural organisations to offer to their students and/or employees. Please note that Institutional Library Passes can only be purchased by telephone or post.

Getting Library Passes

In Person:

Day, Weekly and Annual Passes can be purchased in person from Stephen Street Reception on the day of your visit. Please check opening hours.

Online:

Annual Passes are available to buy online.

By telephone:

Annual Passes can be bought by calling the Membership Team on 020 7815 1374 (10:00-18:00 weekdays).

By post:

Annual Passes can be bought by writing to the Membership Team at BFI Membership, BFI Southbank, Freepost SE8223, London SE1 8YY
