This guide acts as an addition to, and development of, the Strong Women guide published by the bfi in 2001. Strong Women II not only reflects on the re-emergence of powerful women on the screens but also considers their presence as a formal element that transforms and alters the traditional relationship between cinematic genre and gender representations.
