16+ source guides: Marketing
Written and compiled by Tess Forbes, Matt Ker and Sean Delaney

Film marketing is a topic that is manifestly visible as an end product, yet shrouded in mystery: hype can cost money, and whilst box office figures are relatively easy to come by - at least for recent mainstream pictures - details of marketing and promotional budgets may be very hard to find. As well as the general background we have chosen five films to look at in more detail: Trainspotting, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Blair Witch Project, Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace and Titanic. There is a glossary as well, so if you don't know what a "P & A" budget refers to, start there!
