This publication is intended to serve as a guide to references and resources available on David Lynch and his work. The film and television projects for which Lynch is best known are covered in detail but the guide also introduces the broader scope of his creative output, encompassing activities such as painting, photography, sculpture, music, furniture design, computer game design, directing commercials and more.
The vast majority of material mentioned is held at the bfi but includes some items which fall outside of the collection. Where this is the case it is indicated.
A large volume of foreign language articles pertaining to Lynch, particularly those in French, exist within the bfi National Library but in this publication only English language journal/newspaper articles have been covered. Foreign language books are included.
