Moving Image Research Registry

The Moving Image Research Registry is a unique database of researchers - based primarily at UK universities and colleges - and their research projects on cinema, television and moving image media.

keyword search the Moving Image Research Registry by:

  • topic, subject or specialism
  • researcher's surname
  • institution name

or browse alphabetically by researcher

Each entry contains details of the researcher's current and past research projects, publications and contact information.

Researchers' details are added and updated by self-entry and inclusion in the Registry is adjudicated. If you feel that your research fits the criteria outlined below, we invite you to submit your details for inclusion.

Please register your entry here.

Would you like your postgraduate thesis to reach a wider audience? Donate a copy of your thesis to the BFI National Library.

The Moving Image Research Registry provides a unique way for academics and others to network with those sharing similar interests, whilst assisting publishers and the media in identifying expertise and remaining aware of current trends in research. The extensive picture of the field provided makes it an essential resource for moving image research in Britain.

We hope that academics and post-graduates working in Film, Television and Media Studies will continue to register their details and interests. We are also very keen to encourage entries from those working in other academic fields who are studying moving image texts and industries, however the wider use of audio-visual materials as teaching aids is not the focus of this project. Other serious researchers not currently in academia are also invited to submit their details if they have published work in the field or otherwise fulfill the above criteria.

If you have any further questions on submitting an entry to the Registry, please contact BFI Information Services or call on 020 7957 4738.
