Current research
In my PhD thesis, "Superheroic Bodies: The Corporealities of Contemporary Film Superheroes", I examine how medical and technological anxieties are played out on the ambiguous gendered bodies of current film superheroes. The thesis explores themes of gender, technology, sexuality, posthumanism and cyborg theory in such films as Superman: The Movie, Batman, Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man, Hulk and Daredevil.
