Children and television drama, funded by the BBC, 1997, published in 'Dear BBC: Children, television storytelling and the public sphere, Cambridge University Press, 2001. Fake Fact and Fantasy: CHildren's Understanding of Television reality, published Lawrence Erlbaum, 1997, based on research on media literacy as a funded Scholar at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennyslvania

Current research

Review of the BBC's digital provision for children, for the DCMS (just completed). Research on Star Trek as television, partly based on interviews at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, for book for University of California Press, Small Screen, Big Universe: Star Trek as Television, co-authored with Professor Roberta Pearson, University of Nottingham.
