Researchers' Tales is an occasional series of informal discussions for BFI National Library members in which leading writers, historians and practitioners in film, television, artists' film and the moving image reflect on their past and future work.

14 December 2009 - Sir Christopher Frayling
We are very pleased to welcome Sir Christopher Frayling - historian, critic, broadcaster and BFI Governor - to the BFI National Library to talk about the research processes behind both his classic study of Spaghetti Westerns and his biography of Sergio Leone. Sir Christopher will focus particularly on issues of oral history, interdisciplinarity, and the availability of film prints as primary sources.

18 January 2010 - Emma Frost
We are very pleased to welcome Emma Frost - TV and screenwriter - to the BFI National Library. A lead writer on Channel 4's award-winning Shameless and one of Screen International's 'UK Stars of Tomorrow', Emma is currently working on a host of original projects for Working Title Films, Origin Pictures and the BBC. This event will take the form of an interview with Emma about her career and the processes involved in writing for the screen.
