Educational research services

Our research services can supply information and research materials on request to educational and private researchers - students, course leaders, teachers, academic researchers and members of the public.

Our Educational Research Service can provide information and materials on many aspects of film, television and the moving image, including:

• copies of relevant articles, extracts or press cuttings on particular topics
• statistical data
• detailed filmographic information and filmographies
• current distribution information for film and TV titles
• contact details for personalities and companies within the industry

We are now offering lower Educational Research rates - with a minimum research charge of £11.50 (£10+VAT). All work is charged at hourly rates, full details of rates can be found below.

Please note: if your request involves us supplying copies of journal articles or other parts of published works, you will first be required to complete a declaration form regarding your use of this material before you can take advantage of our Educational Research rates. If our Educational Research services are not applicable to you, our standard research rates apply. (Use of our Standard service does not require the completion of a declaration form).

Educational Research Rates

Research is charged at hourly rates. We offer a choice of three rates, based on your required timescale for delivery of research:

10 day service

confirmed research to be undertaken within 10 days

£20 per hour + VAT (£23.00 inc. VAT)

£10 + VAT (£11.50 inc. VAT) minimum charge

5 day service

confirmed research to be undertaken within 5 days

£55 per hour + VAT (£63.25 inc. VAT)

£27.50 + VAT (£31.63 inc. VAT) minimum charge

1 day service

confirmed research to be undertaken within 1 day

£70 per hour + VAT (£80.50 inc. VAT)

£35 + VAT (£40.25 inc. VAT) minimum charge

Conditions of Educational Research Services

• All payment must be made in advance.
• Charges include postage and packing where appropriate.
• Payment should be made by credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Delta, Electron, JCB, Pin Train, Solo, UK Maestro or Switch). UK customers may alternatively pay by cheque (made payable to BFI).
• Information supplied is based on the holdings of the bfi National Library and is supplied in good faith. Whilst every effort is made to ensure its accuracy and currency, we regret that this cannot always be guaranteed.
