Based in the US and cited as the 'ultimate global job site of career opportunities in edication and academia', website is aimed at both applicants and employers. Applicants can search at no cost for placements/positions which are divided into the sectors 'Adminstration' and 'Faculty'. (Usefully further subdivided by subject area.) Other options include state, country and job type (eg part time, sabbatical). Employers need to pay to access database of applicants and can search via job criteria and necessary qualifications. CYFLE - Training
Based in Wales, CYFLE schemes run for 12 months and can be in any area within the industry involving a combination of tutorial, training schemes and hands-on industry placements. Each trainee receives a training allowance and some costs.

Floodlight
The Floodlight course finder allows you to search for London-based courses by subject (such as acting, film studies, scriptwriting, and television) and then by location (South London, Central London etc.) and days and times (daytime courses, evening courses, Mondays, Saturdays etc.). Provides contact details for the institutions that run the courses, as well as other information such as disability access.

Claiming to be 'more effective at placing candidates than the print media', site includes a list of all its clients and is arranged for use both by jobseekers and recruiters. Positions can be searched by sector and specialist area.
Lighthouse
Based in Brighton, Lighthouse offers training and funding to people living within the Screen South region. Runs a number of initiatives, including artist commissions, new directors schemes for Broadcast TV, digital workshops with young people and intensive courses in new media production.
Lux Distribution Guide
A beginner's guide on Lux's own website on "distributing and promoting artists' film and video work". Guide usefully divided into 10 categories, (eg. distributors, festivals, galleries, agencies) with information on how filmmakers can use different avenues to promote their material. Detailed, straightforward information and advice, which should prove helpful as initial education point to understanding the structure of the film industry.
