BFI InView is no longer available

Why has InView been switched off?

InView was first made available in 2009, maintained and hosted by the BFI. The technology it used is obsolete and represents a security risk. The video content required Flash, a technology now not widely supported, and access control was built to integrate with Shibboleth, which the BFI no longer supports.

How can I see archive content from the BFI?

11,000 archive films are available to watch free on BFI Player from the BFI, national and regional archives. This collection grows constantly as more material is digitised.

In 2022, the BFI plans to make available a new service for UK libraries based on BFI Player. The content on this service will come from the BFI National Archive as well as national, regional and cultural partners, including material not available on BFI Player. We also plan to make this service available to other educational institutions.
