Tahaan - A Boy with a Grenade
Screening followed by discussion and Q&A event on issues raised by the film
Santosh Sivan's humanist story deftly explores the experiences of childhood in a war torn region. Tahaan (8) lives in the serene meadows of Kashmir. When his grandfather dies, leaving an outstanding debt, the local money lender takes away Tahaan's best friend Birbal, his donkey. In his struggle to get him back, he is faced with a dilemma - he may have the donkey back only in return for carrying a grenade through a military check point.
