Variety UK Achievement in Film Award

Variety is proud to be working with The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival to present the UK Achievement in Film Award to Ralph Fiennes. The award will celebrate this leading figure's artistic contribution to the UK film industry and international cinema. This exclusive special event will comprise of an extended on-stage interview with Ralph Fiennes, and include a comprehensive look back through his body of work, as well as preview his upcoming projects. Ever since his TV lead-role debut portraying T.E. Lawrence in A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia, Fiennes has established himself an unassailable reputation for dedication to his craft, brutal honesty and searing power. The actor has carried this through two decades of work, whether on the big screen or the stage, with a series of memorable performances in everything from Anthony Minghella’s The English Patient to Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List and David Cronenberg’s Spider. Most recently, Fiennes has excelled in Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges and Saul Dibb’s The Duchess, not to mention his role as Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis Voldemort in the blockbusting series. Variety is delighted to be honouring this superlative actor.
