The Prisoner + Q&A

In April 2010, BFI Southbank was thrilled to welcome the cast and crew of the ITV drama The Prisoner for a very special screening of the new show, sponsored by Aviva. The remake of the 1960s cult series stars Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen, and follows a man who's found himself trapped in a mysterious small town, referred to as the Village, with no recollection of how he got there. As part of the post screening panel, director Nick Hurran and Executive Producer Michele Buck explore the significance of the show now, suggesting that in a society wrought by conflict post 9/11 and post the economic crash, there is a relevance in exploring our personal liberty. Cast members Jim Caviezel and Hayley Atwell also discuss their experiences and roles within the show, whilst Production Designer Michael Pickwoad outlines the look and aesthetics of the production.
