BFI Most Wanted

BFI Most Wanted is a part of the BFI National Archive's 75th anniversary celebrations, and is an initiative to find 75 lost films which need to be preserved and protected. Jo Botting, Fiction Curator at the BFI National Archive, discusses some of the selected films, highlighting Hitchcock's 1926 work The Mountain Eagle and some of Michael Powell's early features including Two Crowded Hours, The Man Behind The Mask and The Price of a Song as evidence of their evolution in filmmaking. Nathalie Morris, Curator for the BFI's Special Collections, also explains here the importance of collecting all sorts of documentation and promotional material as a means to better understand these lost films. The curators appeal to the public on behalf of the Archive to help them source these cinematic treasures!
