She, a Chinese + Q&A

A cross-cultural study of alienation and identity scored by John Parish, She, a Chinese tells the story of Mei and her whimsical journey from China to England. Here, director/writer/novelist Xiaolu Guo joins Briony Hanson for a discussion of the work, revealing the influence of Jean Luc Godard's La Chinoise on the story and her rejection of classical Hollywood narrative, as well as examining the autobiographical aspects of a story of a young Chinese woman's first journey to Britain.
