Jack Cardiff Tribute

Throughout May 2010, BFI Southbank featured a special Jack Cardiff season commemorating the work of the prolific and preeminent cinematographer and director. A pioneer in his use of colour, he was involved in a considerable number of cinematic classics including Under Capricorn with Alfred Hitchcock and The African Queen by John Huston. As part of this season, BFI Southbank hosted the premiere screening of Craig McCall's documentary 'Cameraman: The Life and Work of Jack Cardiff.' Legendary director Martin Scorsese, actor Sanjeev Bhaskar, and filmmaker Craig McCall each acknowledged the life, work, and indomitable spirit of Jack Cardiff.
