Making It In The States: British Actors and Directors on American TV

The volume of British talent in front of and behind the American TV series camera has substantially increased in recent years, and HBO's original television programming has been no exception. British actors have played lead characters in a number of recent and seminal US shows including Rome, The Wire and True Blood, and British directors and producers have been involved in productions such as Rome, John Adams and Generation Kill. BFI Southbank welcomed a number of key industry professionals, with first hand experience of working in the US, in a conversation chaired by Justin Johnson. These included actor James Purefoy, directors Tom Hooper and Susanna White, and producer Andrea Calderwood, as well as author Dick Fiddy.
