Geoff Marslett on Mars

A product of the Austin creative scene, Geoff Marslett is the director of Mars, which was selected for the 54th BFI London Film Festival as part of the World Cinema strand. For this film, which has been described as slacker sci-fi, Geoff Marslett developed his own rotoscope animation technique which he describes as 'half way between a graphic novel and a hand-coloured photograph'. Here Marslett talks to us about his Austin origins, and the conventions of love stories, at a filmmakers' tea.
