Plater: The Man and His Work: A Tribute & Discussion

Writer/Presenter Matthew Sweet, Producer David Rose, Actor Barbara Flynn and Screenwriter Lee Hall discuss Alan Plater at an event celebrating Plater's life and works at BFI Southbank. Rose warmly reminisces about working with Plater and the regional programmes they made, while Lee and Flynn discuss Plater's popularity due to his elegant formal technique yet informal regional conversation, subtly permeated by his sense of humor, politics and love for humanity. The four panelists pay tribute to the considerable body of Plater's work, and to his ability to construct great narratives for both theatre and TV.
