Darling! The Pieter-Dirk Uys Story

Portrait of a South African drag satirist and Aids educator extraordinaire.

The Campaign for Homosexual Equality Derek Oyston film prize, for the film which best reflects CHE's aims and objectives, has been won by Darling! The Pieter-Dirk Uys Story.

The award commemorates a major donor to CHE, Derek Oyston, who lived in Newcastle upon Tyne and thanks to his legacy the winning film-maker Julian Shaw will receive a cheque of £2,000 to go towards his next project.

To celebrate this inaugural award winner we have arranged this extra screening of the film and an accompanying short.

The jury was composed of Griff Vaughan Williams, CHE Media Officer, Emma Smart, LLGFF programmer and Nettie Pollard, founder of Feminists Against Censorship and a member of the CHE Executive Board.
