The Lollipop Generation

A teenage runaway hooks up with perverts, hustlers and lollipop lovers in this super8 journey through the queer punk scene.

The Lollipop Generation not only tells the story of juvenile delinquents, runaways, perverts, hustlers, playground dwellers and lollipop lovers but also serves a diaristic function, charting Bruce La Bruce collaborator G.B. Jones' friends and travels over a period of fifteen years. Shot and edited on Super8 and video, The Lollipop Generation takes these tools of the traditional home movie and uses them to make a fucked up family film. Featuring a cast of queer underground superstars, a rocking soundtrack and several scenes which had me bent double laughing. This film captures the essence of DIY culture. Inspiring us to think "I could do that" and then, most importantly, getting out and doing it.
