OMG/HaHaHa
Engaging tale of several young people in Memphis, TN, framed by an online video blog.
A gay teen movie about the MySpace generation OMG/HaHaHa is an engaging tale of several young people in Memphis, Tennessee cleverly framed by a video blog kept by one of the central characters. While parents are largely absent, ineffective or busy arguing, the teenagers deal with the difficulties of homophobia, transphobia, unexpected pregnancy, grief at the loss of a family member and the slightly less heavy-weight issue of being mistaken as emo. The drama is lightly handled, with touches of humour, surrealism and of course romance. This is a low-budget but beautifully shot film that introduces a cast of talented, fresh faced, naturalistic actors who make this a moving, playful and convincing portrait of youth today.
