I'm Not There

Todd Haynes’ wildly experimental take on the Bob Dylan myth.

When B. Ruby Rich first talked of a New Queer Cinema, she described directors 'renegotiating subjectivities, annexing whole genres, revising histories in their image'. Fast forward to the present day and Todd Haynes' masterly take on the Bob Dylan myth, an anti-biopic, using multiple Dylans and imagined histories to represent the iconic rock star. Todd Haynes, the original and best of the 'New Queer' generation takes things to another level.

Experimental in form and gorgeous to look at, this is a film to lose yourself in. Fans of Haynes will surely have seen it already, but even so, now is the time to see it again with an audience who truly appreciates the transgressive joy of Cate Blanchett playing Bob.
