Security

All bags and computer bags (other than clear carrier bags) are not to be brought into the Reading Room. Small purses with personal belongings are only allowed in at the discretion of staff. There are lockers situated next to the Reading Room for which there is a returnable £1.00 deposit.

Personal belongings including laptops and other equipment are brought in at your own risk.

Food and drink are not permitted into the Reading Room.

Registration

Before using the Reading Room, please present your Pass or membership card to a member of staff at the Counter and fill-in a Registration card.

This is a condition of using the Reading Room and is to ensure that we can monitor the number of spaces available in the Reading Room throughout the day (as space is limited) and to safeguard the health and safety of everyone using the Reading Room.

Please let members of Counter staff know when you are leaving the Reading Room, either for a break or for the day. Please be aware that when busy we will only reserve reader spaces for up to an hour.
