CNN visits BFI National Archive

28 Jan 2010

In January we welcomed The Screening Room host Myleene Klass to the BFI National Archive and BFI Southbank.

The Screening Room featured the work of the BFI National Archive in an episode on film restoration and preservation.

Myleene took a tour around the Archive at Berkhamsted and provided piano accompaniment during a screening of Charlie Chaplin's early silent film Mabel at the Wheel in NFT3, BFI Southbank.

Robin Baker, BFI Head Curator said:

"The importance of the BFI National Archive and its work in caring for the nation's collection of film and television material cannot be underestimated. The Screening Room has really captured the essence of what we do; we're delighted to be able to give the world a glimpse into the Archive, and a taste of the expertise, dedication and painstaking work that goes on there."

The programme screened on CNN International in the UK on 27, 30 and 31 January, and 1 February. It will screen on Turner Classic Movies in the UK on 11 February.
