Group visits

Applications for study visits

Please send us the following information when applying for a study visit. This will help us deal with your request quickly.

1. How many students are in the group?

Visits currently take place on Mondays, when the library is closed to other users and staff can provide necessary support. We can accommodate a maximum of 40 students.

(Please be aware that these sessions get booked up extremely quickly).

2. When would you like to visit?

We offer a morning and an afternoon session for groups: 10.30am-1pm and 2.30pm-5pm. Please let us know which session you would prefer when booking.

If you have a specific day in mind for your visit, please let us know when you contact us and we will either try to honour your request, or suggest an alternative date.

At busy times you may have to share the library with another group.

3. How will you be paying for the visit?

The cost per student is £7.50, which includes dedicated library staff, a selection of materials on chosen topic area (where available), and some complimentary copies from materials for each student.

Methods of payment:

  • By credit card in the library at BFI Southbank on arrival
  • Students can pay individually at BFI Southbank on arrival
  • Cheque made payable to BFI.
  • An invoice can be raised and emailed directly to your finance department.

4. What are their research topics?

We require a list of students’ names and chosen research topics at least a week in advance of your visit. This means we’ll be prepared for your visit.

You can find more information about the BFI Reuben Library and its collections here on our website, and search the catalogue before your visit.
