Helen Edmunds

During 20 years working with BFI collections, Helen has been responsible for the care of paper collections, the co-ordination of film and video preservation and curatorial work, including for several major projects: the five-year HLF-funded ‘An Archive for the 21st Century’ project, a restoration programme for the films of David Lean and the JISC-funded InView, a digitisation and access project that resulted in 1,000 hours of digitised works streamed online for HE and FE.

Helen was involved with Screen Heritage UK’s ‘Securing the National Collection’ programme, project managing the preparation and move of the BFI’s master film collection into the new BFI Master Film Store. She was also a member of the team delivering a new Collections Information Database (CID). As collections manager, Helen has responsibility for the BFI’s Collection Gateway team, who facilitate access to the collection.
