Stephen McConnachie

Head of Data for Collections and Information

Stephen has worked at the BFI since 2009. In his current role he is responsible for leading the department which defines and implements documentation and data standards for the BFI’s collections, and which manages the Collections Information Database (CID) and delivers the data to BFI platforms and projects, including BFI Player.

He played a key role in the consolidation of the BFI’s diverse collections databases into a single modern system, and will now focus on building a digital storage infrastructure to preserve the BFI’s digital collections.

He came to the BFI from ITN Source, where he led the archive’s team of cataloguers, researchers and content editors in the transition from analogue to digital, file-based workflows.
