With a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Muensters and as a graduate of the L. Jeffrey Selznick School and George Eastman House, Uli has worked on optical biochemical sensors and IPR, and has researched heritage colour systems. More recently, he explored analogue and digital approaches in film restoration as R&D Manager for Haghefilm-Cineco in Amsterdam, and engaged in moving image preservation teaching and outreach for the Haghefilm Foundation. At the BFI, he is playing a key role in maintaining our technical capabilities in all fields of film, video and audio conservation and restoration.
