27 June Access to Funding with Games Lab Leeds Games Lab Leeds in association with Ukie is hosting a two-day workshop on Access to Funding. This will be presented by a host of industry experts and will cover all different types of funding available for games companies and how to maximise the resources available. 23 June Edinburgh Film Festival (EIFF) Senior Certification Analyst at the BFI, Christopher Halliday, is on hand to talk to you about the process for certifying your film, television programme or video game as British and accessing tax relief. Chris can talk you through the cultural test and official co-production procedures for your project. The tax relief can be worth up to 25% of your total budget. 15 min slots will run from 10am until 12pm, and he will also be available throughout the afternoon to meet up. Edinburgh EIFF
13-15 June Annecy International Animation Film Festival / Mifa Andy Wright will be available for 1-2-1 meetings for both UK and international producers who may need guidance on co-producing with the UK and qualifying as a British film/programme to access UK tax reliefs. 13 June Sheffield Doc Fest — Marketplace Christopher Halliday and Margherita Modeo are on hand to talk to you about the process for certifying your film as British and accessing tax relief to help finance your documentaries or other film projects. Sheffield Sheffield Doc Fest
7 and 8 June Xpo North The BFI certification unit is the first point of contact for applicants wanting to qualify their production as British in order to access the UK’s creative sector tax reliefs. 1-3 June Feral Vector A festival “about making games and gamelike things” celebrating the cultural and creative side of games. The BFI Certification Unit is supporting the event, and video games analyst Colm Seeley is attending.
