The Umbrellas of Cherbourg on DVD and Blu-ray

Win a 50th-anniversary edition of Jacques Demy’s beloved, bittersweet musical.

Jacques Demy plays homage to the Hollywood musical in his 1964 New Wave film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

To celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary, StudioCanal have fully restored it and now release it on DVD and Blu-ray.

Guy, a 20-year old French auto mechanic falls in love with 17-year old Genevieve (Catherine Deneuve), an employee of her widowed mother’s umbrella shop. After the couple share a passionate night together, Genevieve falls pregnant and must decide whether to wait for Guy (who has left on a two-year tour of combat in Algeria) or to accept an attractive offer of marriage from a wealthy diamond merchant.

We have five copies to give away on Blu-ray which features four hours of bonus material. A documentary on Jacques Demy and an audio interview with Catherine Deneuve are included.
