The Search for Shangri-la
From December 2009
Life in Tibet from the 1920s to the 1940s is vividly captured in this selection of extraordinarily rare footage shot by British ex-pats, explorers and local dignitaries prior to the Chinese occupation of 1950. Accompanied by a specially-commissioned score and featuring stunningly beautiful colour film of Tibetan rituals and ceremonial dress, this moving journey to 'Shangri-la' is not to be missed.
