Show People
King Vidor's joyous satire of Hollywood in its silent heyday.
- Mon 7 Dec 18:20 NFT1 book
Naïve Peggy Pepper begins her career in slapstick movies where she has to 'take it on the chin' and falls in love with fellow comedian Billy Boone, but when as 'Patricia Pepoire' she graduates to high art productions, she rejects Billy and her own past in low comedy. Charlie Chaplin briefly appears as himself in this cameo-packed Hollywood satire, but Davies steals the show. With musical accompaniment by critically acclaimed composer Jean Hasse.
