The Bad and The Beautiful

Vincente Minnelli's poisoned valentine to the Dream Factory tells the story of the rise and fall of a Hollywood producer, played by Kirk Douglas at his most feral. Using flashback and multiple perspectives, the story is told from the memories of the director, and the starlet and the writer who knew him best. By turns cynical, stylish and witty, this is one of Hollywood's great films about the process of making movies.
