A selection of pieces surveying the artist's video work.
To accompany our Gallery exhibition celebrating video artist Peter Campus, we present a survey of his video work, and welcome him on stage. Avoiding chronological order, Programmes 1 and 2 are a selection of pieces for the most part originally meant to be seen as single channel loops in installation format. The works range from the analogue videos made in the 70s to the digital videos made from 1996 to the present. The greater contrast lies in the artist's shift in interest over the years: the earlier pieces are concerned with the psychological mechanics of video, the later ones with video as an expression of personal visual poetry.
