Preview: Once Upon a Time in Anatolia

One of the finest films of 2011, Ceylan's Cannes prize-winner follows the search by police, prosecutors, a doctor and the alleged killer for the body of a man buried in the Anatolian steppes. A rich meditation on the manners of provincial life, the balancing of ethics and pragmatism, and the need to hold on to everyday comforts when faced with misfortune and death, it's a wholly engrossing - and visually beautiful - account of a rambling, shambling investigation, complete with piercing insights and dry wit.
