Adapted from Margaret Kennedy's bestselling novel, The Constant Nymph was one of the biggest British films of 1928. Mabel Poulton stars as the titular schoolgirl whose love for composer Lewis Dodd (Ivor Novello) ends in tragedy and heartbreak. Co-scripted by Alma Reville (aka Mrs Alfred Hitchcock), the film features beautiful location work in the Austrian Tyrol and was praised by contemporary reviewers for the performances of its two leads.
