An unwavering documentary in which the elderly He Fengming recounts her life as a victim of the state ever since her husband was arraigned as a 'Rightist' in 1957.

The director of the epic Tiexi Qu: West of the Tracks returns with another sobering document. The elderly He Fengming is filmed in the gathering darkness of her apartment as she recounts a life blighted from the moment her husband, a journalist, was arraigned as a "Rightist" in 1957. Shot in two long sessions, her testimony is engrossing and moving; the film has a cumulative emotional power.
