Steam Control presents: Why Won't You Tell Me?
An experimental event that will take you to the dark side...
Collaborating artists from the literature and multimedia community project take you on "a journey into dangerous places - in words, sounds and visions that will dislocate the heart".
Steam Control is a group of collaborating writers, sound and media artists, teachers and community workers. We use poetry, storytelling and multimedia to provoke new ways of perceiving, living, acting in and reacting to our community, with a focus on artistic innovation, empowerment, disability and mental health.
For the X’08 Festival, Steam Control presents Why Won't You Tell Me? - the first in its CastWords series – ‘a journey into dangerous places – in words, sounds and visions that will dislocate the heart’ – plus 'work in progress' on Melting Into Air, exploring the edgier sides of dreams and memories – and Behind the Grey: a meditative synthesis of fine-art poetry, sublime digital images and elemental soundscape.
Poet/media artist Nicola Field, sound designer Steven Brown and actor Clare Cameron create an experimental event that will take you to the dark side. Also featuring digital landscape artist Robert Youngson; poet Laurence Quant; actors Karina Jones and Everett Jaime; writer Rebekah Lattin-Rawstrone; sound artists Simon Hope, Andy Brittain, Damien Robinson, Stuart Bowditch and Peter Karkut.
